Romans 12: 1- 2 – True Worship
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy,
What is your view of God’s mercy?
Paul urges us to get a view of God’s mercy – to get a view of God’s mercy before we come to worship him
Imagine looking at your life in view of God’s mercy
Imagine worshipping in view of God’s mercy
Imagine living every day in view of God’s mercy
It would change our perspective
To offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
Worship is an altar that we put our lives on
We will do anything in this world to avoid sacrifice
We become comfortable, risk adverse people devoid of sacrifice
Yet sacrifice is where we connect with God
We connect with him at his sacrifice – on the cross and he connects with us at our sacrifice of laying down our lives
So many people never experience this communion
It cost us to get close to God
Holy and pleasing to God
This is your holy moment
Sacrificial living makes you holy before God
This act pleases God
This is how your life can be pleasing to God
This is true worship
The bible describes this as true worship – This is what it means to worship God
Everything else is not true worship – it is self serving
To sing songs in church without a sacrificial life is just singing songs
There is no presence of God
You want to see God move in your life
You want to experience his presence
Learn true worship!
